“As with any culture, I think there’s a group of people who buy into it totally, a group of people who are in it for other reasons and buy into it very little, and the vast majority that fall somewhere in between. The satire comes with taking the worldview of people who buy into it totally and taking it up a notch or two until it’s absurd yet still recognizable.”
I think it is so important that people find other people who look like themselves, and realize and know that affirmation, whoever we are, whatever we do. I sometimes say in MCC, “If you don’t hear anything else I say, remember this: ‘God didn’t create you so that God could have something to sit around and hate.’ “
