January 20 = National Strike and Day of Shame!

Why, I’m wondering, aren’t the DNC, antiwar groups, unions, and social service NGOs calling for a general strike across the country? Have they become so ineffective?

Why aren’t we organizing a national shut-down beyond not spending cash ? Let’s close down everything. The whole country takes the day off to mourn and protest. Not going to work is a great way to avoid spending money too! All the protest efforts scheduled for that day – Turn Your Back on Bush , Buy Nothing Day – would fit in.

We should call a national strike for January 20th! Ask that all unions, businesses, and individuals SHUT DOWN THE NATION in shame.

The unions should be organizing a national protest strike but unfortunately they’re all but dead.
Unions have become completely ineffective organizations. I used to be a member of National Writers Union until about two years ago, when the AFL-CIO slashed the Writers Union leadership and installed outsiders at the top. After that coup, I never renewed.

Um, is planning a national strike the same thing as sedition?
