The Rainbow Motorcycle Club has extended an invitation to the bear community. They are planning a Celebration of Lurch’s Life at the Eagle on Saturday, January 7th at 4 PM. All are welcome to attend. Please spread the word. Attached below is the announcement we received.

The Celebration of Lurch’s Life at the Lone Star is still planned for Thursday, January 12th at 6 PM. While this one may be a bit more bear specific, it obviously is not the only ceremony that will be planned for Lurch. If you care to also meet and celebrate with Lurch’s biker brothers, the Rainbow MC’s celebration is an additional option that is open to you.

Greetings, my name is Lenny Kovlak. I have known and loved Michael “Lurch!!!!!!” Sutton for many many years. He was a man of many friends – Bear Biker alike. I called John Gardiner, Rainbow Member owner of the Eagle Tavern. He said yes, the 7th of January at the Eagle at 4 pm is fine for a Celebration of Lurchs' Life. Please join the celebration and please, pass this on to all of the Bear Community, who knew and got Joy and Laughter from Lurch…. Peace brothers, xoxoxoxo, Lenny Kovlak Rainbow MCP.S. Ron Jackson Suresha is an editor, anthologist, and writer. He is considered an authority on emergent queer masculinities, in particular the subcultures of gay and bi male Bears and of male bisexuality. For Ron's service to the bear community, he was named "Bear of the Year" 2008. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Suresha attended the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, 1976-8), where he studied creative writing, and Vista College (Berkeley, Cal., 1989-92), where he studied American Sign Language. For more than two decades, he has worked as a freelance proofreader for trade book publishers such as Shambhala Publications. He was married in October 2004 to Rocco Russo. He is also a licensed Justice of the Peace in Connecticut, an ordained minister, ULC, and a member of the New London Green Party. Nonfiction works include Bears on Bears: Interviews & Discussions; Bi Men: Coming Out (coeditor, with Pete Chvany); Bisexual Perspectives on the Life and Work of Alfred C. Kinsey (editor). His latest book is The Uncommon Sense of the Immortal Mullah Nasruddin: Stories, jests, and donkey tales of the beloved Persian folk hero, published by Lethe Press.
