NOLA-bound again

Looking forward to seeing all the gentlebearzes of Louisiana and environs soon! I'll be arriving in NOLA Tuesday night, staying in the Marigny at the delightful and newly renovated (!) Sweet Olive B&B, owned by pals Dale & Dave. Rocco arrives on Thursday, and we're staying until Monday, so I'm hoping that'll be time enough to get to see everybody on my list.

Saints & Sinners is going to be one helluva fabulous conference, and it’ll be great to see everyone that week. If you're in the New Orleans area and for some ungodly reason you haven’t already, it’s not too late to register: just go right this minute to http://www.noaidstaskforce.org/development/events/literary/sas/ , and take advantage of this excellent GLBTQ cultural and arts event based right in the French Quarter.

I especially hope folks can come out 5:30-7:30pm Thursday to the pre-conference Open House, with Felice Picano and T Cooper reading, at Faubourg-Marigny Art & Books, 600 Frenchmen Street @ Chartres. Admission is free: cocktails and light refreshments will be available. This pre-conference event is a benefit to support the primary GLBTQ bookstore for the New Orleans region, Faubourg-Marigny Art & Books (FAB), so please come ready either to buy some books or to throw a few bucks in the hat. A bookstore like FAB is an incredible asset that deserves support from everybear – and everyone else in the GLBTQ community as well, so come and have a drink with us as we celebrate GLBTQ literature in the community – bring your friends and your checkbooks, and spread the word!

For folks who want extra credit on their GLBTQ report card (you did register to
VOTE, didn't you?), some of us are assembling at 3:00pm the day before, Wednesday, at the bookstore, to help clean and organize and prepare for the benefit.

By the way, does anybody know where I can buy a leather kilt in New Orleans?

Thanks, and see you soon!

Allbest, with bearhugs,
Ron
